Dania Fakhro, PhD, LMHC-FL, LCMHCA, NCC, is an assistant professor in the Counseling Department. Her research examines trauma and displacement as upstream risk factors for violence-related and mental health outcomes among underserved and vulnerable populations, particularly refugees. She focuses on the intersection of trauma and loss, using community-based and arts-informed approaches to prevention
and healing.
